Purim, the annual celebration from the book of Esther, finds the community dressed in various costumes ranging from clowns to princesses. This animated and interactive service is always a favorite.
A carnival or game day takes place during religious school. Youth and adults alike are welcome. Activities include face painting, Twister, pie throwing and bowling.
The Purim Spiel
The Purim Spiel is always the highlight of the service. Members of our congregation entertain the audience with the story of Esther in parody. Our ‘not ready for prime time’ actors and actresses deliver grins and groans with a flavor of humor all their own.
Past Spiels have included the Beatles, ABBA, Star Wars and Mel Brooks movies
