Religious school

This is not the high-pressure Hebrew school you grew up with!

Religious school at CBT is engaging and FUN! We provide a safe environment for Jewish kids to come together, connect with their community, and learn about Jewish foods, traditions, and songs.

Because our congregation is small, students get to know each other, their instructors, and our rabbi very well. Students meet once a week and attend Shabbat services. Pre-school and kindergarten kiddos meet just once a month to get to know the school and the other other children in our community. Beginning in third grade, children get a formal Hebrew education.

Interfaith friendly

Our students come from a wide variety of  backgrounds. Most of the families in our congregation are interfaith so many of our kids have non-Jewish parents. Religious school provides an opportunity for the whole family to expand their knowledge of Judaism and participate in Jewish community. Bonus: Parents get two kid-free hours every Sunday.

Join any time

Congregation B’nai Torah holds religious school classes from September through May. Children are welcome to join Hebrew school classes at any point during the school year. It’s never too late to start working toward a b’nai mitzvah. We are happy to work with you to help your child become a b’nai mitzvah regardless of their age.

We encourage teens to stay engaged! After their b’nai mitzvah, we support our teens in being active in our Jewish community through social events and community action.

Reasonable cost

Thanks to many dedicated volunteers and our wonderful school administrator, we’re able to provide a high quality education for a cost that’s relatively low compared to other schools in the area. We offer discounts for multiple children from the same household. Religious school tuition is waived for new members for the first year.

We’d love to have your child join us. Contact our school administrator with questions, or fill out an application
